Dos and Don’ts: Important things to bear in mind while wearing colored eyeliner

New beauty trends keep popping up every now and then, and nothing excites us makeup-junkies more than these new trends that are currently making the headlines. We all need an excuse to wear makeup and when the trends can be this wonderful, we certainly cannot resist ourselves from wearing new makeup looks every day. One such makeup trend that is stealing the spotlight currently is colored eyeliner. And believe us girls, this is one of the easiest trends to experiment with right now. No matter if you’re looking to create a daytime look or night glam look, colored eyeliner is the key to creating a statement look and making some heads turn in the process. Although you can never really go wrong with colored eyeliner, there’s some possibility that you can go wrong with its application and end up making a fool out of yourself.
Colored eyeliners are anything but boring. While colors are incredibly fun to play with; like we mentioned earlier, you can easily go wrong with its application, which can end up making you look comical. However, as long as you have us by your side, there’s nothing you should be worried about. We have jotted down a list of some dos and don’ts that you must bear in mind while applying colored eyeliner.

Dos
Pick the color wisely

When it comes to choosing the color of your eyeliner, you don’t want to pick the one that doesn’t complement your eyes. Therefore, you should choose the color very wisely, or else you will end up looking comical. Pick the shade from a range of colors that complements your eyes to make them look prettier. For instance, colors like pink, lavender, aqua, gold flatters people with dark brown or black eyes. Similarly, colors like emerald, bronze look great on hazel or light brown eyes.

Make it the focal point

Colored eyeliners are self-sufficient to be called a statement look on their own. Instead of drawing the attention away from your eyes by applying heavy makeup or wearing bold lips, you should let your colored eyeliner do all the talking. When you wear colored eyeliner, you should always try to make it the focal point of your look and not do anything that will divert the focus from your eyes.

Begin with dark shades

It’s not easy to take a plunge into something that you have not done before. And while we know it’s not easy to sport colored eyeliner and cannot be pulled off easily, for all those who are willing to take the plunge, take it slow. There’s no need for you to straightaway go with the quirkiest eyeliner color, you can keep it simple at the beginning by choosing safe colors like brown or regal green that are considered the best options for beginners. It would be a great start for all those who are a bit hesitant to apply colored eyeliners.

Don’ts
Go overboard

Sometimes, it’s just for best to keep yourself from creating an extra bold or dramatic eye look. It’s not that you cannot pull off these dramatic colored eyeliners like the models on the fashion runways, but keeping the look subtle and minimal is the key to making it look simple yet catchy. Especially when it comes to colors like neon pink, orange, or green, you should try to keep everything as minimal as possible.

Think of it as your regular eyeliner

Eyeliner is one of the best ways to enhance your eyes as well as your overall makeup. While black or neutral colored eyeliners do this job the best, other eyeliner shades might not work equally wonderful. Therefore, you must not treat these colored eyeliners as your regular eyeliner; they are best used for creating statement looks, period!
Applying eyeshadows with colored eyeliner is not the wisest thing to do, however, if you want to make your eyes look a little more enhanced, applying neutral hues would do the trick.
